Worldwide, 783 million people do not have access to clean water. 6 to 8 million people die annually from the consequences of disasters and water-related diseases. At EcoPro, we find these staggering figures unacceptable. That’s why we’re partnering with Water.org, a charitable organization devoted to ensuring everyone, regardless of location or social class, has access to clean, affordable water.
It’s a natural fit, as our mission is to help PT Clinics and other health practitioners do their part to conserve water and be eco-friendlier. After all, the average PT Clinic uses over 10,000 gallons of water every year on laundry alone (most of which is cloth pillow cases). Since launching, we’ve helped PT Clinics save millions of gallons of water! But that’s just the start of our eco-efforts.
Who Is Water.Org?
For more than twenty years, Water.org has been at the forefront of developing and delivering sustainable solutions to the global water crisis. Water.org was founded by Gary White and Matt Damon (yes, THAT Matt Damon).
Water.org goes far beyond just providing water to the individuals in need, it empowers whole communities. In most water-scarce areas of the world, women and girls are the primary water gatherers. They often travel for hours every day to collect the necessary water. For young girls, this means less time in school. For young women, it means less time spent contributing to their society. Impact studies have shown that for every $1 invested in water and sanitation $4 is generated in economic return.
We believe in this mission. That’s why we’re donating a portion of every EcoPro Pillow Cover sold to Water.org. Want to get more involved in helping to break the cycle of water-induced poverty?
- Have your PT Clinic directly partner with Water.org
- Implement an employee charitable giving matching program
- Hold a Water.org fundraiser at your clinic
- Participate as a Clinic in a sponsored race or team event
- Directly donate a portion of profit to Water.org
We know the war against the water crisis is winnable, and we’re proud to do our part in supporting this lofty goal.
