Cleaning Recommendations
EcoPro Pillow Covers are designed for effortless cleaning using medical-grade disinfecting sprays or wipes. To ensure longevity, please follow the manufacturer's recommended cleaning instructions, as these can vary by product.
🚫 Avoid using the following, as they can dry out or damage vinyl over time:
- Bleach
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Citrus-based cleaners
⚠️ Bleach, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Citrus-based cleaners are extremely damaging to vinyl products and will void our 2-year limited warranty.
✅ Recommended Cleaner: We highly recommend Protex Brand Cleaner, as it is free from Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, Bleach, and Citrus. However, most alcohol-based cleaners are also safe to use.
Keep your EcoPro Pillow Covers clean, hygienic, and long-lasting with proper care!
The general rule of thumb for choosing the correct cleaning product is that if your current cleaner has not damaged the other soft surfaces in your clinic ie treatment table, bolsters, etc, it should also be safe for cleaning our products.
Since different clinics/facilities will have different cleaning policies and requirements, we are unable to recommend a specific cleaner or cleaning protocol. The following information is based on our research and experience with many of the typical medical grade cleaning products on the market. Please be sure to read and adhere to manufacturers guidelines with respect to any cleaner you choose to ensure you allow for adequate “kill time”.
Citrus, Bleach and Hydrogen Peroxide Based Cleaners
Citrus, bleach and hydrogen peroxide based cleaners are known to damage vinyl surfaces over time. Use of cleaners that list citrus oil, citric acid, bleach or hydrogen peroxide as one of their primary active ingredients will cause STAINING, DETERIORATION OR DISCOLORATION of our products. Therefore, use of these products will VOID THE 2 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY. These include: Citrus II, Method Antibacterial Cleaner, Clorox and Lysol products. Many of these cleaners indicate that they are “safe for soft surfaces” however in actuality, they are only safe for fabrics and not vinyl.
Alcohol Based Cleaners
Alcohol based cleaners can cause drying of vinyl products over time. This is most commonly seen with heavy use and excessive saturation of vinyl surfaces. Use of these cleaners will not void the 2-year limited warranty however may shorten the overall lifespan of the product. These products include most of the “cides” ie. Envirocide or Cavicide.
